Lone Star College has awarded its Request for Proposal (RFP) 932-Syllabus Generator Tool to Simple Syllabus. This decision resulted from a competitive evaluation process to identify a tool that successfully meets the college system’s requirements for operability, technical integrations and accessibility compliance.
Evaluation Process
The RFP included detailed criteria for a syllabus management tool, including integrations with D2L Brightspace and Oracle Peoplesoft, the ability for faculty to customize their syllabus templates, data reporting tools, and the ability to store and export syllabi from a centralized location.
Following the review of vendor submissions, Simple Syllabus was chosen as the tool that most aptly fits the needs of the college system. The platform has proven to meet all of the essential criteria, as evidenced through successful implementations at other higher education institutions.

Lone Star College’s implementation of Simple Syllabus will begin right away, with an emphasis on integrating the tool with Brightspace, and establishing standardized syllabus templates across each college. The project is structured to ensure that every course syllabus is accessible, consistent, and aligns with both institutional and accreditation requirements.
Simple Syllabus will partner closely with Lonestar College throughout their deployment to provide assistance, receive faculty insight, and make adjustments to the system as needed. The aim is for faculty to begin using the platform as soon as the upcoming academic term, providing students with timely access to important course details.
