University of Houston has awarded its Request for Proposal (RFP) UH RFP730-24043 for a syllabus publishing platform to Simple Syllabus. This award was received after a competitive evaluation process for identifying a system that satisfies the university’s requirements for accreditation, technical integration, and overall platform functionality.
Evaluation Process
The RFP contained detailed criteria for a syllabus publishing tool, with the primary function of providing a template-driven platform that enables instructors to quickly personalize and publish interactive class syllabi directly within the LMS, and meets institutional and accreditation requirements.
The proposal review concluded that Simple Syllabus was the most optimal platform, meeting all of the essential university requirements. The proposal also provided demonstrations of successful implementations at other higher education institutions.

Implementation of Simple Syllabus at the University of Houston will begin immediately, with an emphasis on establishing standardized syllabus templates across departments, and supporting faculty as they familiarize with the platform. The project is designed to ensure that every course syllabus is consistent, accessible, and compliant with both institutional and accreditation requirements.
Simple Syllabus will partner closely with the University of Houston throughout the project launch to provide support, gather faculty feedback, and make adjustments to the platform as needed. The aim is for faculty to begin utilizing the platform as early as the next academic term, giving students prompt access to their course information.
