Purdue University has awarded its Request for Proposal (RFP) for a syllabus manager software solution Simple Higher Ed. The reward follows a competitive evaluation process established for identifying a software solution that could meet the university’s criteria for accessibility, technical integrations, and overall usability.
Evaluation Process
The RFP issued by Purdue University included detailed requirements for a syllabus management software. Primarily, the software must integrate with the university’s Learning Management System (LMS) and Student Information System (SIS), comply with current web-based accessibility standards, include a syllabus repository for easy searching and retrieval, and a user-friendly interface for faculty to create syllabi quickly and efficiently.
After a final review of vendor proposals, Simple Syllabus was selected as the solution most closely aligned with the university’s needs. The platform met all essential technical and functional requirements, backed by a proven track record of successful implementations at peer institutions.

Purdue University will begin implementing Simple Syllabus immediately. The project will focus on integrating the platform with Brightspace and Banner, and establishing syllabus templates that adhere to current web-based accessibility standards. The launch is designed to ensure that every course syllabus is consistent, accessible, and compliant with institutional and accreditation standards.
Simple Higher Ed and Purdue University are partnering on an initial deployment to provide dedicated support, gather vital faculty feedback, and refine the system for optimal performance.
