Camosun College has awarded its Request for Proposal (RFP) No. 1-24-03-99273 for a syllabus management system to Simple Syllabus. The decision was determined through a competitive evaluation process to recognize a system that could meet the college’s requirements for technical integrations, accessibility, and functional capabilities.
Evaluation Process
Camosun College issued the RFP with detailed requirements for the syllabus management system. The primary criteria included integrations with both Ellucian Colleague and D2L Brightspace, compliance with web-based accessibility standards, support for single sign-on, the ability to create standardized templates across multiple programs, and a user-friendly interface for faculty to edit and publish syllabi.
The proposal review concluded that Simple Syllabus was the solution that most effectively meets the college’s needs. The system met all essential requirements and demonstrated successful deployments at other higher education institutions.

Camosun College will begin implementing Simple Syllabus immediately. The project will prioritize integrating the platform with Brightspace, and creating accessible syllabus templates across academic programs. The deployment is designed to guarantee that every course syllabus is consistent, accessible, and compliant with institutional and accreditation standards.
Camosun and Simple Syllabus will join forces during the project launch to provide assistance to faculty, gather their feedback, and make adaptations to the system as necessary. The intention is to have faculty adopt the system in time for the upcoming academic term, giving students prompt access to important course information.
