The City Colleges of Chicago have awarded their Request for Proposal (RFP) NC2306 for a syllabus management tool to Simple Syllabus. The award resulted from a competitive evaluation process to identify a tool that aligns with the college systems requirements for compliance, integrations, and accessibility.
Evaluation Process
The RFP contained specific criteria for a syllabus management tool. The primary requirements included providing a centralized platform to create, store, and manage syllabi across all CCC institutions, integrations with D2L Brightspace and Oracle Peoplesoft, compliance with institutional values and standards, and an intuitive user interface that is easy to navigate.
Following the review of proposals, Simple Syllabus was selected as the platform that best aligns with the college system’s needs. The tool satisfied all of the requirements, referencing a history of successful implementations at other higher education institutions.

The City Colleges of Chicago will begin implementation of Simple Syllabus right away. The project will focus on integrating the platform with all other campus systems, and establishing syllabus templates across the colleges. The process is designed to ensure that every course syllabus is readily accessible, and compliant with institutional and accreditation standards.
Simple Syllabus will partner closely with CCC during the project launch to offer faculty support, gather insight, and adjust the system as needed. The goal is to have faculty using the system as soon as the upcoming academic term, granting students easy access to updated course information.
