Clemson University has awarded its Request for Proposal (RFP) No. 180510095 for syllabus management software to Simple Syllabus. The award was received following a competitive evaluation process for identifying a platform that satisfies the university’s requirements for operability, integrations, and accessibility.
Evaluation Process
The RFP was issued with specific criteria for syllabus management software. The foundational requirements included providing a centralized repository to search, view, and store syllabi, integrations with Instructure Canvas and Ellucian Banner, compliance with accessibility standards, data reporting tools, and a user-friendly interface for creating templates and publishing syllabi
After reviewing all vendor proposals, Simple Syllabus was chosen as the solution that was most compatible with the university’s needs. The system met all essential requirements and offered demonstrations of successful implementation at other higher education institutions.

Implementation of Simple Syllabus at Clemson University is set to start immediately. The project will center around integrating the platform with Canvas, and establishing syllabus templates across academic departments. The process is designed to ensure that every course syllabus is readily accessible, and compliant with institutional and accreditation standards.
Clemson and Simple Syllabus will team up during the deployment phase to provide ongoing support, gather feedback, and refine the system accordingly. The objective is to have faculty using the system as soon as the upcoming academic term, so students have timely access to updated course information.
