The University of Utah has awarded its Request for Proposal (RFP) UU183406547 for syllabus management software to Simple Syllabus.
The reward follows a competitive evaluation process established for identifying a system that could meet the university’s requirements for accessibility, technical integrations, and overall usability.
Evaluation Process
The RFP issued by the University of Utah included detailed criteria for a syllabus management software. Primarily, the software must integrate with the university’s LMS and SIS, comply with current web-based accessibility standards, include a syllabus repository for easy searching and retrieval, and a user-friendly interface for faculty to create syllabi quickly and efficiently.
After a final review of vendor proposals, Simple Syllabus was chosen as the solution that was most consistent with the university’s needs. The software met all essential requirements, with a history of successful implementations at other higher education institutions.

The University of Utah will begin implementing Simple Syllabus immediately. The project will focus on integrating the platform with Canvas, and establishing syllabus templates that adhere to current web-based accessibility standards. The launch is designed to ensure that every course syllabus is consistent, accessible, and compliant with institutional and accreditation standards.
Simple Syllabus and the University of Utah will team up for the initial deployment to offer assistance, receive faculty insight, and modify the system as necessary. The objective is to have faculty using the system as early as the next academic term, giving students quick access to their course information.
